I’m not a huge analog synth geek myself, mainly because I’ve stayed close to my nomadic roots and moved at least once a year for the last 4 years, but also because I just haven’t got the money to support a passion for hardware synths, and I prefer the flexibility of software. But this video of The Subliminal Kid jamming on his M5N makes me want to sell everything I own and dedicate all my finances towards a serious synth addiction.

100% mp3 compatible

The BBC News website reported yesterday that some of the largest online music sites in Britain have gotten together and created a “MP3 compatible” logo which will show customers that the music they buy from the sites involved will be playable on any mp3 player, DRM free. I couldn’t find the logo on either 7digital, Woolworths or HMV, but perhaps their designers deemed it unfit for display since it’s not exactly pretty to look at?
I guess this is good for people still unaware about the difference between protected and unprotected music formats but those people are also likely to belong to the “As long as I can play it on my iPod I’m happy” category, and therefore won’t care very much about something like this. But still, it can’t hurt!
This is from all the way back in 2007 - about 2.3 million mp3blog years. The video is a bit like Prodigy’s “Smack my bitch up” video but for kids. Frankmusik, who originates from south east London, goes clubbing with his girlfriend, gets drunk, fights someone and gets thrown out by the bouncer to wander the streets aimlessly. Miraculously, the girlfriend manages to find him and all ends well. Awww..
I really like this tune but the other Frankmusik songs I’ve heard are far too cheesy for my taste. Of course, I’m probably not part of the designated target audience and with Stuart Price producing his next album, he should be huge with all the NME worshipping twenteens next year. “Unicorndanceparty” on youtube agrees with me:
“if this was released as a UK single it would hit no.1 fo sho’”.
And here’s the much cheesier “3 Little Words”.
